Going to study abroad is the best period in the student life for some exchange student and ESN wants to make it possible for everyone. That’s why ESN developed the ExchangeAbility project to make our organisation accessible for students with disabilities on all the levels of its activities. This means that ESN wants to provide the conditions and opportunities for students with disabilities to actively participate in the student life both at home and abroad.
The secondary and long term goal of the project is to increase of the number of students with disabilities going on exchange and also creating the best conditions for them during their stay abroad.

Shortcut “PRIME“ reffers to “Problem of Recognition In Making Erasmus“. Basicaly it is a complex qualitative and quantitative research which aims at pointing out the examples of existing obstacles to student mobility ( for example incompatibility of study programmes, problems with calculation of course credits, etc.) and providing suggestions for improvements in order to facilitate student Exchange in Europe.

Despite rapid growth in the past 20 years, the Erasmus programe is still facing several challenges. The recognition of courses studied and competencies gained abroad are among the main obstacles which discouage students from participation. According to Erasmus Student Charter students are entitled to expect full academic recognition from their home university for credits achieved during the Erasmus study period, in accordance with the Learning Agreement. However surveys have shown that only slightly more than half of the Erasmus students recieve full recognition of their studies abroad. This has shown that existing situation required more attention and development of reccomendations and solutions. For these reasons the project called “PRIME“ arised.
The main task of National Prime coordinators is to contribute to the collection of information and data identifying problem sources, best practises and success stories , as well as they are responsible for the contact to Higher Education Institutions, faculties, professors and students. They form a wide network which carries out promotion and dissemination of the results at their universities and countries. They are responsible for good proceeding of project at national level.
My name is Katarína Kohýlová, I am 23 years old and I was born in the capital city of Slovakia - Bratislava. I am a 3rd year student of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava. I heard about the amazing activities of ESN from my childhood friend and I immediately wanted to join. I am a member of ESN CU and I am also participating in our buddy system. Unfortunatelly I have not been on Erasmus yet, but I am definitely plannig to go!!!
I decided to become a National Prime Coordinator during my first National Platform 2011 because I have a strong sense of justice and because I know how bureaucracy can sometimes be disappointing.
